Green waves rolled out like silent tides,

They shaped the spell with joined command,

Life returning to the land.

Ash turned soft beneath their feet,

No eye could see the price beneath.

The Conflict

In scarcely counted days, the crown awakened,

Its golden promise curdled into flame,

Power seeped into Dargan’s veins unshaken,

Till hunger wore the mantle of his name.

The land reborn in miracle and light

Was chained anew by greed that would not yield,

Forests cried beneath relentless might,

Fresh rivers bled to sate a tyrant’s will.

Kalidor alone first felt the tear—

A discord in the song of living ground,

By starlight sworn, he gathered those who hear

What thrones ignore and silence cannot drown.

Mirellith, Gamlas, The Nameless One and Rurik stand,

Oaths reforged where truth and shadow meet,

One path before them now, one final hand:

To face the king—

Or watch the world be stripped beneath his feet.

The talisman pulsed at his breast,

“I am the crown, I am the care,

I decide what serves you best.”

His words struck hard, his temper flared,

No room for doubt, no plea was spared.

Boots on stone in Ravenford’s streets,

Steel and torches, whispered threats,

King Dargan’s hounds with iron eyes.

Names like curses in the night.

Rurik’s friends come running fast,

“Go now—there’s no time to speak.”

Five shadows slip behind the ale,

Playing one more game of hide and seek.

Beneath the tavern, stone and dust,

A secret room, a borrowed prayer.

Hands on hilts they dare not draw,

Too soon for war, too raw to dare.

Above them mugs and laughter shake,

Below, the silence starts to ache.

They count the steps, they count the men,

Relieved

The footsteps of the hunters faded into the dust,

only the wind remained,

and the quiet crackle of dying embers.

Ariana stepped out from the doorway’s shadow,

her apron creased from hours of waiting.

Her voice was calm,

but the night weighed heavy in it.

“The air is clear.”

The five looked at one another,

breath released, shoulders lowered.

At last.

“You can go back to the forge.”

Metal clinked as they turned away,

hope ringing in every step.

Relieved, they set off down the road,

back to fire, anvil, and purpose.

But Ariana caught Rurik by the arm,

holding him as if to stop time itself.

The others kept walking.

Softer now, almost fragile, she said:

“Stay.

We need to talk.”
